1. Introduction

Local Havn is a community events discovery platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, password hash, and role (managed through Supabase Auth).
• Event interactions: saved events, event claims, submitted corrections, and reports you make.
• Location preferences: city and radius selections used to filter nearby events. We do not continuously track your location unless you explicitly choose "Near me" and grant browser permission.
• Technical data: browser type, approximate location derived from IP for region defaults, error logs to keep the site running, and the analytics described in Site analytics below.

3. How we use your information

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and improve event discovery features.
• Process organizer claims, submissions, and reports.
• Send account-related notifications and moderation updates.
• Maintain platform security and prevent abuse.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for authentication sessions and to remember your preferences (such as feed filters, keyword search, and location choices). You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

5. Site analytics

To understand how people find and use Local Havn, we keep simple first-party analytics on our own servers. When you visit, we assign your browser a random visitor ID (stored in local storage) and record: how you arrived (for example a link from Instagram, Facebook or a search engine, including any campaign tags in the link), the pages and events you view, actions such as searches, filters, saves and clicks on outbound links like ticket or venue pages, and an approximate region (city/state level) derived from your IP address. If you create an account, this activity can be linked to your account. We use this only to improve Local Havn and to report aggregate, non-identifying results to event organizers. We do not sell this data, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.

6. Event data sources

Event listings include information from public sources collected by our scraper pipeline and from user submissions. Public event data may contain venue names, addresses, dates, descriptions, and links to third-party sites.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help run the platform (for example, hosting, authentication, email delivery, and mapping/geocoding services) and when required by law.

8. Your rights: export and deletion

Logged-in users can download a copy of their data and request account deletion from the account settings page. Deletion removes your profile data in accordance with our backend processes.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices including row-level security, authenticated access controls, and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

10. Children's privacy

Local Havn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note the effective date at the top of the page.
